It all starts with a consultation, where we can determine what needs to be done and take measurements of your lawn. We can then get you scheduled and the project begins.
Most of the time there is a lawn, weeds or debris existing in the area where sod is desired. We remove what is existing and bring it back down to dirt level. This includes cutting out what currently exist, roto-tilling the ground in needed areas to turn the dirt inches down, raking that into piles, and removing compact dirt, roots, and other debris. Then any extra dirt and debris is hauled away.
The area is then raked again, good top soil is added if desired - dirt is sculpted with a land mover and the edges are hand sculpted to ensure the sod will lay correctly. Any polymer crystals or extra nutrient dirt can be added if desired. Tamping of the area is now done to prevent unevenness and the ground from sinking down. This is done with a weighted tool that is heavily pressed into the ground. The area is now ready for sod!
The sod is cut fresh from the farm and delivered within hours. The sod is then carried to the area and rolled out perfect and tight to help prevent lines. At each edge the sod is cut to shape to ensure it will lay down evenly. The area is cleaned up nicely and the job is done!
